Ca’d’Oro Bakery started baking fine artisan breads over 19 years ago. Jean Leon of La Scala restaurant fame wanted a bread in the European tradition that would complement his wonderful gourmet dishes. Using stone hearth ovens, his bakery “House of Gold”, began producing various breads for the La Scala restaurants, but soon started distributing to an ever appreciative and expanding number of discerning restaurants. From humble beginnings in Santa Monica, in 2007 a larger plant was added in Inglewood. Sourdough, Olive Bread, Ciabatta and French Baguettes are among those baked in the stone hearth ovens at the new plant. Ca’ d’Oro’s sourdough products are also naturally leavened, which gives them a wonderful crust and a delightful flavor. Our breads are baked fresh daily and contain no preservatives.
